I just got a Marantz SR5002 receiver and a WD TV for my setup. I've hooked up the WD via HDMI to my receiver. I then ran an HDMI/DVI cable for video to the tv (it doesn't have HDMI).

For some reason I have no sound. I'm not sure if it's something with the WD or with the receiver. It doesn't matter if I'm trying to play a video or listen to music, there's just no sound.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it. I'm at a loss. :o

Does your receiver come with speakers? Cause DVI dont carry sound to TV...

Yup. It's hooked up to a pair of Rocket 750s. I've got sound when I play CDs.

Try switching between Digital and Stereo in the Audio setting on your WDTV menu.

Great suggestion. However, it didn't change anything.

If I hook up composite everything works fine. It's just sound from HDMI. I'm wondering if it's a 5002 issue. In the box where the channels/speakers are displayed on the receiver it's blank. . .

Some receivers have the options of having the HDMI audio either enabled or just passthrough...

I have it enabled and everything works on HDMI #3 but not #1 and #2. Can't figure it out. . . .
