How close can I run coax HDTV and FM antenna lead to fluorescent fixtures. The cable is standard RG-6U "digital satellite cable."

I have 4' long T-12 fixtures with magnetic ballasts on a 16" wide shelf near the ceiling for general illumination. They are mounted with the side of the fixture opposite to the bulb against the wall and the bulb towards the room, the fixture and bulb being in a plane parallel to the ceiling. I would like to run the coax along the shelf about 8" away from the bulbs.

Do I risk interference from the fluorescents? This seems to be a hard to define question in Google.

Thanks,

Antenna lead? Wrap it around the bulbs and it shouldn't affect it.

well...u never know for sure until u try it but in most cases it should be no problem....if possible, try a temporary hook-up to see what happens....

Thanks for the prompt responses.

I have a working system. I ran the cables along the floor and then to the TV and FM.

I also have a mate who loves to change things. The curtain that hid the wiring is no longer acceptable. I'm trying to accommodate. I'm a retired chemist. I am used to empirical solutions. I like my experiments to be as informed as they can be. To make this work I need to drill some more holes and restring the cables. I wanted to spare myself the effort if someone could tell me unequivocally that it would not work.

Thanks again!
