I am getting ready to upgrade to a new projector and have my old one, but no clue what I should ask for it. It works great and only has 2400 hours (probably will need a bulb soon) but anyways any thoughts? Should I ebay it? or put it on the AVS classifieds?

Thanks

I was in the same boat with the same projector...decided to keep it as a backup or a future bedroom/kids projector as the value is, at best , minimal...

I really don't need a backup, as my company does home theaters, lighting ect, so I usually have a projector laying around if I needed one. I was thinking 5-600?? You can buy a refurb for 1300 still, so it still gotta have some market.

I thought about hanging on to this one to play outside at night, but really dont think i would use it.

Thanks

With out a new bulb I doubt you can sell it for more than 350-400$.

Maybe I will approach it that if someone buys for x price I will include a new bulb.

Thanks for your input!

I agree. I sold my Infocus 7205 here at AVS classifieds for about $550 late last year. My PJ was on its second lamp. The first lamp lasted about 1800 hours and the lamp that was in the PJ during the sale only had about 500 hrs. The problem with the lamps on these is they are WAY overpriced. Most places sell the lamps for around 400!

Look in your family tree for a some couple just starting out in life, offer to give it to them and help them set up their first Home Theater. Surround yourself with good karma.

Yep I know my cost on the infocus assembly is over $400, BUT buying just teh bulb is around 180, but they are a little aggravating to change.

Thanks again for your help guys, guess I am gonna be out of pocket a bit more than I thought, but when has that never been the case? Damn hobby!

Unfortunately as others said, you are high on hours (surprising it has even lasted that long). I would ask around $400 and see what happens.

Hi Guys,

I'm not much of a DIY guy. I'd be interested in hearing the pros and cons of buying the lamp versus the entire assemby. What is involved in changing out the lamp in an existing assemby?

Is the lamp the only "wear" part, or is there any performance advantage to replacing the assembly as well as the lamp?

Thanks.
