Hi, I just tried updating my EHP-606 via USB. I downloaded the update, extracted the files and put them on the usb stick.
The files are:
- "50-17-081025-15-EHP-403-000" which is a ".bin" file
I turn on the ehp-606, go to the usb stick, choose the right-most option (choice of video, photo, audio, or text, where I chose text), selected "bin"file , waited for the page to load, then hit enter again to start the update. Once the update is completed, the EHP-606 reboots, and I try to install the nmt apps via the same usb stick - I select "typical install" so that I don't lose the movies already on the 1TB Seagate HDD, but it says that the setup fails because of something wrong with the source (ie the usb stick - sorry i can't recall the exact wording of the error). I've ensured that the USB stick is formatted in FAT and that it also has the "syb8634.nmt" file on it. I've tried two usb sticks, both formatted in FAT with the same files and still no luck. I've read the wiki and searched the forums and still cant find the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
You should have problem on NMT installation I suppose.
Firmware succeed to install but are you sure the nmt application is the one that matches with your firmware?
Yup, as far as I know, NMT player has different firmware with the nmt applications. Make sure your firmware and NMT application are the related! :)

baminron,
I just wanted to follow up on this post. I'm a little puzzled by the steps you took in updating your firmware. A HTML named "usbupdate.htm" is packaged with the .bin file. This is the file you select to update via USB. Here are the instructions I provide my customers:
1. Copy the entire contents of the firmware archive to the root directory of a USB device.
2. Stop file copying and all network shares. It is recommended that you disconnect your player from your network.
3. Power down your player and then restart the device. This will clear all memory.
4. Browse to the USB device and use the File Icon (the fourth icon). Locate the file 'usbupdate.html' residing in the root directory of your USB device.
5. Press Enter on the 'usbupdate.html' file. Press Enter again on the listed firmware update link.
6. Your player will now begin the process of updating the firmware. After completion, your player will automatically reboot.
7. If you have a hard drive installed, the NMT applications update wizard will start automatically.
8. Follow through the on-screen instructions and select to update via USB.
9. NMT applications update will start and will automatically reboot after completion.
10. The update process in now complete.

baminron,
You're right. The process of updating the firmware and NMT applications is a little tricky at first. However, the process never changes so next time it should be a lot easier! :)
If you run into any other problems, please let me know.
