there are NO multiplayer achievements or trophies. this is the way it should be for every game. some people don't play, can't play, or choose not to play some of their games online. but they still like to get achievements and trophies. what a bummer it is to find out you have to achieve stupid things online in order to get them all

my buddy bought little big planet and he loves it. except for the fact that some of the trophies are obtained by doing things online.

could you list the single player trophies available on the ps3 for COD4, I'm pretty sure I just need one more for the platinum;)

I do agree in part, I think getting all the single player trophies should get a platinum. Since online game servers eventually shut down this could help greatest hits sales if the online portion wasn't required. But also keep the online trophies, as they do promote more people going online and fostering that community.

You do know about the IW perk achievements that must be done online in COD 4, right?

So you're saying you're happy no one else can see what you have and haven't accomplished? because from where I'm sitting, they're there just not a part of the console achievement/trophy system.

Anyways, prepare to grumble, because you can get your butt they'll have trophy and achievement support tied to those in CODMW2.

I like multiplayer achievements, except for the ones tied to ranked games only. Like Gears of War 1. I realize that having achievements tied to player matches allows for "boosting" but the achievement nerds will do what they do. I think CoD4 should've had an achievement for hitting lvl 55, at least.

Personally, I think multiplayer games like CoD4 and LittleBigPlanet should have more multplayer trophies. If you're not willing to play the game the way it was ment to be played, why should you have access to all the trophies? Isn't the point of trophies to expose the player to a wide variety of what the game has to offer? Apparently you think the system should be tailor made to your specifications. I know its easy for people to come to the conclusion that the world revolves around them, but it rarely does.

IW didn't do anything stupid in COD4 for leveling up. Shoot through a wall, hit the enemy's proximity mine, kill 3 three people. Or, get points for commiting suicide by falling a great distance. Practical "achievements" there for sure.

lol i don't care...i play online regardless. to be honest, there was a time where i wouldn't even buy a game unless i could play online. but people really do like trophies and achievements. it's not fair that they need to play online to get some of them.

i said some people. believe it or not, there are people who play games for the purpose of getting trophies and achievement, nothing more. of course these things don't take away from the game itself. but they sure can add to the value.

i don't want easy trophies either. hell, i beat bioshock on survivor last night. i can assure those who don't know, it's no easy task.

How about two bullets with a single rifle shot, or killing someone by hitting them with an unexploded ordnance. Killing the #1 person on the other team 10 times in a match is also a doozy.

And I really don't understand the need to want the platinum, if they're an offline gamer. I beat games to their fullest to get the most out of them, and in the past there was no award for doing so. That's fine. It's the same if you don't bother with the MP aspects of most games.

Intense (especially early on when you don't have much for weapons/plasmids), but the last 2/3 of the game is pretty much a cakewalk, especially once you get the crossbow. Unfortunately, I missed one lousy gene tonic on my last trip through and was robbed of the platinum, so I'm running through it again.

i didn't upgrade the crossbow. lol i figured that it is just a cakewalk. big daddies one shot through most of experience. also, i bet that tonic you need can be found in the garden of arcadia

It was one that the Sisters give you if you've been saving them after Rapture Central Control. I was harvesting them all because I had already gone through it saving them :mad:

op, there are no trophies in that game. so you're saying they got it right by not doing it at all, eh?

i'm saying they got it right because there shouldn't be ANY multiplayer achievements/trophies. some people don't have access to any internet connection but like to get them. they get screwed out of a 100% completion on the game that he or she paid 60+ for. on to of that, one of the biggest factors that i didn't mention before is that there are so many glitchers and cheaters trying to screw it up for everyone else. they will make it almost impossible to get some of the trophies/achievements you need for the 100% just to get a laugh and stay ahead on the leaderboards

I don't really care... as long as they don't have a dumb "Be ranked #1" trophy/achievements, I don't mind.... and personally I don't even enjoy the single player in the CoD series, so I guess I should complain that I will get no trophies at all.

The OP is just apologizing for IW's arrogance of not properly supporting one of the biggest franchise on the PS3, with trophies. I fail to see how not showing love is any good. I also fail to see how this is actually bendt right overall. I mean, the game didn't recieve any proper support and still has many server flaws. Also, people are glitching like there is no tomorrow and IW looks away from it and are nothing better than i.e. EA or Valve. Glad I sold the game after a month.

Personally, I'm the least excited about this game out of any coming out this year. COD4 online felt pretty generic to me, and the addition of achievement trophies and perks was nice, but not revolutionary in my opinion. Also, have little hope for SP after getting a platinum in W@W and not even bothering with COD4 after a few levels.

They're going to have to bring something special to it to peak my interest.

And for once, I agree with Trat!

The trailer looks to have a few interesting things. If IW can spice up the gameplay, I'll give it a shot. If its just a phoned-in sequel, pass. I didn't mind COD4, but the online play was really boring to me.

I might give it a shot too, under certain conditions. But, IMO it's hard to beat the proposition of Killzone 2. Especially if you look at the amount of support it got and will get in the future. Update 1.27 has just been announced and GG's patch records is beyond anything in the shooter market. On the one side you could call the amount of patches lack of skill for releasing a proper / robust product in the the first place. On the other side, GG adds many new features to the game and I can only praise them for this. What I'm trying to tell (I guess) is that I value support to a greater extend than a product that just pays well and is fun. So, if MW2 is any good, it still needs to be seen if IW can / will support it during it['s life cycle. A game like TF2 is great fun, but the lack of support (which it needed badly) killed it for me. IW has the weaker card in this matter: they supported COD4 pretty badly IMO and I will take this into account when deciding to buy MW2. Guess, it won't be a 1st day purchase in any way for me.
