I am having trouble controlling this receiver with a wired ir system. So I called motorola for the ir frequency specs (I am a novice at ir, so please forgive me) they told me the frequency was from 300mhz-400ghz. That does not sound right. Can you help me get a compatible ir receiver to control the stb.

The IR frequencies are standard for CE hardware. I've set up a number of IR extenders that work fine with Moto DCT boxes.
