I'm having a little trouble understanding the technical details. Am I correct in understanding, that if I took out the horizontal feed lines, attached 300-to-75-ohm baluns at each side, and ran two equal lengths of RG-6 coax into a 2-way splitter/combiner, that I would get improved performance over the stock configuration?

I already have the antenna, and am looking for ways to boost its performance.
