I am psyched up to purchase Patapon 2 Thursday, 5/7/09. I really enjoyed Patapon and I read the sequel is supposed to be excellent as well. It will be available as a download. Retail versions will not include a UMD but instead a code which will be used to authorize the download. Retail verisons will include a box with a manual. Pata Pata Pata Pon! Pon Pon Pata Pon!

I was playing the flash mini-game on their website; I dig it. Are those the only two commands in the game?

I was playing the flash mini-game on their website; I dig it. Are those the only two commands in the game?Besides the advance and attack commands there are four others. Defend is chaka chaka pata pon: Triangle, Triangle, Square, Circle. Retreat is: Pata Pon Pata Pon: Circle Square Circle Square. Charge is Pon Pon Chaka Chaka. Circle Circle Triangle Triangle. There is also a miracle command.: Don Don Don Don Don XX-X-XX.

I got to play it a little yesterday. My 7-year-old son was enjoying it.:)

Setting up Problem:

I had switched to the D-Link DIR-825 Simultaneous Dual Band Gigabit Router some months back and I haven't tried to connect the PSP to the internet since then.

I could not, no matter how simple I made the WPA key make an internet connection. Originally I had this crazy 63 character passkey which I assumed was the problem but it wasn't because I even shortened it to "PATAPON2HEREWEGO" (easy enough to input without error) and it still wouldn't connect. (I've reverted back to the 63 character internet generated passkey so don't get any ideas. :)).

I was going to go nuts because you can never go back and check the key you entered into the PSP. You need to do it all from scratch. I could not connect. I restored to system defaults to get everything out the PSP's memory but that didn't help. I realized that WPA2 was not compatible so I switched to either WPA2/WPA or WPA, and still it wouldn't connect.

Anyway, I wound up connecting my old FiOS Actiontec MI424 Router to the D-Link creating another wireless network and ran WEP. I don't know if it was the WEP or the PSP just liked the Actiontec but it then connected without issue! My wife was happy to be able to connect the Nindento DS Lites again as WEP is required for them and I was refusing to run that on either bands of the D-Link Router.

Anyway after logging into PSN Store, and entering the code to download the game it downloaded VERY slowly. On the other hand the PSP Firmware update downloaded very fast so maybe the store was stressed.

It is nice to have the game on the memory stick though because you can keep another UMD into the PSP.

I'll be back to talk more about Patapon 2 another time. There are 3 difficulty levels to choose from. That is good if you're not that effective at staying in "fever".

Haha, the first Patapon helped me get through being stuck in a jury duty waiting room all day a few weeks ago. It is hands down my favorite PSP title... very original gameplay, and I look forward to a future PS3 release. I'll finish the first before I get the sequel.

Yea, I really liked the first one, but I haven't finished it yet either. I might pick this up in the future though. My little sister loves the first one.

Is the PSP compatible with WPA? I thought it was WEP only.

When I do get a PSP, I want to get into this series. Should I start with the first one or just go right to the second?

Is the PSP compatible with WPA? I thought it was WEP only. It's supposed to support WPA-PSK either with TKIP or AES. It does not support WPA2-PSK at all. If you a scan it finds a WPA2 broadcast, it'll say unsupported next to it.

If you want get serious about the story, then do the first one first. However, it looks like you could certainly enjoy the second one first if you prefer.

What's unique about this game is they can be enjoyed seperately because they have different music tracks. The music rhythm gameplay is what makes it different from every strategy RPG game out there.

'Hero' Patapon is nice to have! Don't forget that you can change his class, so if you don't have enough ka-ching to spawn a full squad of Yumipons, Tatepons, Yaripons, you can assign Hero to the lighter class to compensate. The decision can also be made based upon what your troops are up against.

The new evolution map is a little confusing. I'm not used to it. They tried to make it more intuitive how to create Patapons but I'm not convinced yet.
