My current setup

TV: 720p Samsung DLP
Receiver: STR-DE895
Speakers: Pyle Pro
DVD/BR Player: PS3

I am thinking of upgrading my reciever to something a little more currrent, but was also thinking about the Edge. My budget for a reciever is right around the cost of the Edge so either works. Thank you for your time.

Two totally different pieces. If you want to maximize video performance, get the Edge. There are no audio receivers that will do what it can for video. But, if you want to really upgrade your audio, and perhaps help a bit with the video, go with the receiver. Or better yet, do both. :)

Well after doing a little more reading and asking Jason a million questions I decided to pull the trigger on a Edge. Big thanks to Jason at AVS for all his help and getting me a great price.

Jason took time to ask me as many questions as I asked him and together we decided that the Edge was right for me.

I would have just gotten the receiver... :D Just kidding.
