Any comments on the following :


Sony KDL 52V5100
Samsung BD3600 blue ray player

Yamaha RXV656 receiver
Klipsch Synergy B2 bookshelf speakers
Mirage Omni S8 sub

The idea is to expand the system in 18-24 months for full surround sound

60% movies and 20% music / 20% Xbox

overall looks good--2 things i would be aware of though.

1) past generations of smasung players have been notoriously unreliable and required frequent firmware updates--not sure if the newest ones do but samsung has been derided for their unresponsiveness to need for firmware updates previously--again don't know if the new ones do.

2)make sure you like the klipschies--if you have heard them and like them you should have a great system.

I have not heard the speakers. I can't find anywhere in North Dallas, apart from BB!

This equipment list was put together by a guy from Vanns. He seemed to know what he was talking about. The speakers were under $250.

He thought they would work well without the need for a center speaker.

He recommended the Samsung because of the built in wireless feature over the Panasonic BD80.

We all know what we are talking about, especially a salesman!! Just kidding, by all means go out and listen to this stuff before you drop the money, especially the speakers. Being in Dallas I have to imagine there are plenty of audio/video stores around that you can check out. Do yourself the big favor and take the timeto look around.
