Hello!

I`m from Portugal. I`m a new member of this forum and need your help.

I want to spend about 500 € in a camcorder (pixmania). I am undecided between the JVC Everio GZ-HD30 and Sony HDR-XR105.
The specifications of the JVC is better than the Sony's ... except one that is important to me: according to what I read on the website of JVC, the JVC has the battery lasts approximately 45 minutes and 110 minutes for the Sony, which is more than double. Is this true?

Someone here in the forum have the JVC Everio GZ-HD30 or the Sony HDR-XR105?

What can you say about them?

From I what I gather reading around here, Sony is the better choice. I am also doing my homework for a new camcorder. I have ruled JVC out in most every case.

Another question came to me:
The Canon HF10 only records video in AVCHD format and JVC GZ-HD30 records in two formats AVCHD and MPEG2-TS.

I see a few "video samples" on youtube and the quality of the JVC seems to me very rough (or almost equal) to the Canon.

Not be best to choose a camera that can record video in both formats?

I would get the Canon HF10 only because Sony's consumer HD cams suck at low light. That's why i'm swapping my Sony HD cam out for a Canon cam since I hear so much good things about them.
