Sorry if this too much of a newbie question, but I need some remedial help.

I want to download a season on Dexter onto my Dell laptop from Itunes. then I would like to be able to watch it on my home theater system. My laptop is running Windows Vista PRemium and has MS Media center. I have firewire, usb parts and VGA outputs on my laptop.

My receiver is a a Sony DG-720 and has component video inputs available. I assume I can go from the headphone jack on my laptop to audio inputs on the receiver.

What's the best way to get the video from the laptop to the TV system.

thanks,
Roger

You would be better served by posting this into the HTPC area or the video streaming area

You don't tell us what kind of TV it is. Many HDTVs come with a VGA port so you can treat the TV as a monitor. If it's an SDTV, you'll need a converter from VGA to S-Video or composite. Here are some options:

You might encounter problems with "overscan," where the image is too tall for the TV. This is a especially a problem with subtitled material.
