I will be heading out west in about 4 weeks and would like to have a telephoto lens for my SR11. I have heard that the Sony lens HG1737C has some viginetting when pulling back to a wider angle shot. How bad is this? Are there any other telephoto lenses that I should look at for my SR11?

Apparently nobody on this forum uses telephoto lenses.

From what I have learned since I first posted this thread, is that all telephoto lenses have a vignetting problem to one degree or another. Is this really true?

Does anybody here use telephoto lenses with their camcorders?

I use the abovementioned lens and find it to be of quite good quality. Good construction and good match for the camera. I have not noticed a significant amount of vignetting. When using a telephoto, you are most likely zooming in to a certain degree anyway.
