View Full Version : Anthem LTX Projectors
Kabillyhop 05-09-09, 01:23 PM This might be old news, but I notice that Anthem has introduced its LTS Series projectors. Has anyone seen these? They look an awful lot like my RS10. Are they rebranded JVC's?

I'd sort of forgotten about it, the MSRPs appear to be the same as JVC. This is interesting as I've got an Anthem dealer close, maybe I'd be able to see one. Just wonder if I can get the sort of discount on the Anthem version as the JVC.
Kabillyhop 05-09-09, 01:32 PM Thanks stanger.
Interesting that Anthem calls them LCOS projectors. Doesn't JVC insist that DILA isn't LCOS?
Thanks stanger.

I saw the unit at CES this year....it is just a re-badged JVC.
Also D-ILA is what JVC calls there LCOS technology

mark haflich 05-09-09, 01:55 PM FACT. NO DEBATE. They are rebadged RS10 and RS20. The only difference is the band color on the lens. That's it. They have a limited license to sell them but only as part of an Anthem system. A dealer can not sell them separately or order them separately. For those who purchased an Anthem system a few months back, the license agreement allows fullfillment to that customer. The pricing and dealer costs are very close to the same as most JVC dealers pay . This is truly nothing. I guess for a Paradigm`Anthem brand loyalist, both great brands by the way, there might be something to a RS20 branded an Anthem. But they are exactly the same. I am sure and they do not have the new software loaded either yet.
osiris13 05-09-09, 07:08 PM They are rebadged JVC projectors, and the MSRP is $500 higher than the JVC equivalent. For that premium, you get a voucher for $200 towards a lamp and a "white glove" service package that includes next-day replacement for defective units.

DILA/LCOS/SXRD are all the same basic thing. DILA is JVC's specific term, SXRD is Sony's, LCOS is the generic.
mark haflich 05-12-09, 03:46 PM Jason. Aren't there some performance differences between design differences in JVC's and Sony's chip? Or is it just a question of implementation using grid polarizors and the like?
Jason Turk 05-12-09, 03:54 PM There are some differences yes, but the technology base (LCOS) is essentially the same.
ninja12 08-29-09, 06:29 PM I thought the LTX500 was based on the JVC HD750, and the LTX300 was based on the JVC HD350. Is that not true? How do these really compare to the JVC 750 and the JVC 350 respectively?
ninja12 08-30-09, 11:59 AM Never mind. I found the answer to my question.

About a month ago I walked into a local boutique and had a chance to audition the Anthem. I do not know what specific model it was (I could find out if someone is interested), but the price gave me the feeling that they were asking for more than what the HD550 goes for (try 30% more).
Like everything you get in terms of information I was told, and took on face value, that this wasn't a rebadge, but it clearly appears to be the case. Maybe Anthem is doing something in the firmware, but I couldn't tell enough of a difference to consider the Anthem name for projectors over JVC.
And this is all person opinion and personal experience.
mark haflich 07-02-10, 02:52 PM The warranty is longer, I think it comes with an extra bulb if I remember correctly. Street prices are little more for the Anthem but it comes with a little more. It is definately a rebadge though. Nothing more inside. In fact Anthem reportedly is prohibited by their license from JVC from changing anything other than the initial brand screen.
osiris13 07-02-10, 06:46 PM As others have said, the Anthem projectors are absolutely a rebadge of equivalent JVC models. What Anthem offers in addition to JVC is a longer warranty with next-day replacement for defective machines, a voucher for a discounted projector lamp, and discounts when purchased in a package with Anthem electronics and Screen Innovations screens.
