Hi there, hopefully someone can help someone very new to camcorders...

My Girlfriend and I were looking for a simple camera to use in order to back up our memories to my computer...

We purchased this camera after reading many reviews and looking at a lot of test videos of the video and audio quality...

We purchased the camera in a package with 3 8GB SD Cards and a Camera bag....however, after a day of use, I am really not happy with the recording quality at all so far....

When I record something, and then watch it on the camera, it looks fantastic...nice and bright and clear, however when I transfer it over to my PC, or I hook the camcorder up to my TV, the video looks very pixelated and VERY DARK...

Is this normal? I'm not expecting HD quality or anything, but the quality is really not what I am hoping for.

So my question is in regards to different settings such as; iScene, White Balance, Exposure, Shutter, Focus, Anti Shake, Digital Effects, 16:9, Resolution, and Back Light.

Thank you so much for any help!

Also, is anyone aware of a Firmware update at all for this camera? I searched and couldn't find one, but I just wanted to make sure...

Thanks again!

For what its worth, I owned the Samsung MX-20 and liked it very much, a very cool camcorder with some very cool features.

As much as I liked the MX-20 I ended up selling it after I got a Vado HD camcorder,,,, in "my" opinion the Vado HD's video quality is far better than the Samsung.

And I did have the same issue as you had,,,, my MX-20 footage did not look as good on the computer screen as it did on the camera.
Another issue I had with the MX-20 was it would not display 16:9 correctly on my PC.

Matter of fact, I like the Vado HD so much I also sold my Flip Mino HD and my Kodak Zi6 and then purchased a second Vado HD to have as back up.

Can't say enough how happy I am with the Vado HD !!!!

Its easyier to use than the Samsung and cheaper (around $160.00 on eBay) and the video from the Vado HD looks perfect when it's loaded onto a computer.

Cheers

I have exactly the same problem! Video looks awesome on the LCD screen, but like crap on the computer monitor. Did you ever find a solution or workaround? Thanks.
