About 6 months ago on the exuberant recommendation of the Sales people at "Music Lover's," a dealer in Berkeley, CA, I purchased this panel. After about 2 months of use, my first set showed signs of burn-in, BAD burn-in. I talked to the dealer about it, and after dragging his feet for several weeks he punted the problem to Hitachi who then dragged their feet for several weeks before replacing the set. About a month afterwards, the second set also showed signs of BAD burn. The Dealer claims it is an "environmental" problem. (I guess that means we don't recycle well enough.) However, he (again) punted the problem to Hitachi (Lots of punting going on here...), who punted the problem to Alpha TV who punted the problem back to Hitachi who...well appear to be reluctant to admit that it's a POS.
The Dealer is extremely unhelpful, doesn't return calls, and has pretty much wiped his hands of it. I have been EXTREMELY patient with the Dealer, but have reached the end of my patience. It has been about 6 weeks since we last spoke about the problem, and I've pretty much had it. Clearly there is some issue here, and I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on how to resolve it.
