ok, i got the Harmony 550 and i love it.
just wondering if theres a way to program the buttons when the remote is on standby or whatever you want to call it. I want to do this so i can control my lights after i turn everything off with the remote...
is this possible?
thanks in advance

What are you controlling the lights with? I have the 520, and none of the buttons work, unless you are in an activity. I use X-10 modules for lights, so I just added the X-10 remote module as a device. I added the functions to every activity, so I can control the lights when listening to the system, I also added another activity called "Lights" that just controls the lights.

Most light controllers are RF not IR. They won't work with the 520 or 550, unless you add a module that converts the IR commands from the remote to RF. So you may need to add one more piece of hardware to do what you want. The X-10 module was only $7 delivered from the bay.
