Hi, I have been trying to fix this problem for the past couple days but have not had any luck at all. I am trying to program my Comcast DVR 3 universal remote to control my LG LHT764 HTIB. I am able to get the remote to turn the home theater system on and off, but I am unable to get it to control the volume. I have entered in numerous codes, did a code search, unlocked the volume, etc.. and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any suggestions at all? Thanks!

With a code that at least powers the HTIB programmed in, try the following to get the volume:


1. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
2. enter 9 9 4
3. press AUX or AUD device key twice


Then try the following:

1. AUX or AUD
2. press and hold SETUP for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 3
4. press VOL DOWN

Still no luck. The volume still does not change with the DVR 3 remote. Anything else?

Bump. Anything else that anyone thinks I should try?

The volume keys don't control the HITB, right? So what do they control? Tv or Cable box?

Well it depends if the volume is locked. With the volume unlocked for all three modes (aux, tv, cable) I can control the volume for the cable box and the tv, but not the HTIB which is programmed for the AUX mode. The only thing I can get to work with the HTIB is the power, nothing else. I have tried well over half of the codes in the comcast DVR 3 remote manual but none of them proved to work beyond how it is now.

Try the codes listed for Zenith Audio, like 30281, 30744, 30857, 31293,and 31524

Nope, none of those codes worked at all.

What is the code you used to make the power work and do any other buttons work with that code? From what I've found about the LG HTIB's, it looks like they use an ir protocol that the Comcast remote does not have built in, but if you were able to get the HTIB to respond to a command, there MIGHT be a small chance you can program in the volume command.

I am using code 20741. All of the playback codes, power, etc.. are working good except for the volume.

Any clue about what vodes I can try to program into my volume buttons?

Running out of things to try, I contacted Comcast and LG regarding my problem and it figures that both said the same thing... "Contact the other company"
