How do the two sets compare? I am looking for a bedroom TV and want something cheap. I already own a Kuro and I have seen the PX50u and thought it looked good for the price. Is the new panny alot better and how do the blacks compare? Thanks

the PX50U is a four year old model.

The P50X1 is the new model. It is much better than the PX50U but not as good as your Kuro. Should be fine for the bedroom.

EDIT: somehow I managed to type px50u when I meant the px80u vs this years panny....how do they compare?

Cnet has reviewed both models, and there are many comparo's of the newer X1 model vs last year's PX80U in the 12G owner's threads. the new models seem to be improved, with better black levels.
