Speaker spikes, grills, and "stick-on pads".

Do you use the spikes on floor standing models when you have carpeting? To me it seems less stable.

Do you usually keep the grills off or on?

For bookshelf speakers do you use those stick-on pads to elevate the speaker from the shelf?

1-Yep. I press the spikes down through the carpet pad.
2-On. I have a toddler, and my speakers were designed to be played with them on.
3-I use poster putty, again because of my toddler.

Floor standing speakers use spikes placed on granite tiles which rest on carpet.

Screens stay on - it is a nicer look

Bookshelf and center channel rest on vibration aborbing material (sorbothean)

1. set the speaker on the carpet...it's no different than setting a bookshelf speaker on a vibration absorbing pad

2. Yes

3. thick felt "stick-on" circular pads
