I recently got an Onkyo TX-SR607

My previous system was the HT-S3100 www(dot)onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=HT-S3100&class=Systems&p=i

Sorry, I can't link yet on the forums.

I'd like to use the current speakers with my new receiver until I get the money to upgrade them. Is this possible? I'm pretty sure I need a new sub but I'm not sure about the rest of the speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yeah, the speakers should hook right up. Both receivers use bare wire.

You'll need a powered sub, though. The 3100 has a passive sub, IIRC. No hookup to the 607 receiver. But a powered sub will sound better.

I thought that was the case, just wanted confirmation before I started setting everything up. Thanks for the response.

Can anyone tell me the best way to hook up my Wii?? Thanks!

Edit: I now have the video without problems but no audio... I'm not sure which inputs I should put the red and white audio inputs.

If you're using the component cable in/outs (red, blue, green) for video, there should be a corresponding audio in/out for the red/white analog audio cables that switches on when that component cable input/output is active. I'm not sure which it is, but it should be there somewhere.

Hm... I am using component, should I just use trial and error to figure out which audio inputs work?

There should be SOME indication which audio inputs are mated to a specific set of component inputs. I can't imagine they'd leave you in the dark as to which is which. What are the labels above the component? One's probably "monitor out" and that's the output, but the other two should have something else, like DVD or something. It should be mated to the similarly labeled audio input.

I think I've figured it out, I actually consulted the manual :). Haven't tried it out but I think I know what to do now. Thanks for your help.
