Just purchased a Yamaha YAS 71. Totally lost on how to set this thing up as they don't seem to provide all necessary cables. Forgive my ignorance on this.
Here is what I need to connect:
Hitachi Plasma TV
Comcast cable box
PS3
YAS 71
I also have a receiver and disc changer I'd like to hook in but main priority is the above.
What is the optimal way to connect this and what cables do I need to purchase? Thanks!!!

Hi, just installed one of these last Friday with a Panasonic Plasma, Comcast cable box and BluRay player. First the YAS-71 does NO video switching so you need HDMI or Component video cable between the cable box and TV. Same for the PS3 or extra disc changer (if it's a DVD changer). While you can wire the TV's analog 'audio out' to the YAS-71 Input 4 it won't provide Dolby Digital from the Comcast box or PS3.
To get Dolby Digital or DTS audio, follow these instructions.
To connect the Comcast cable box to the YAS-71 use Digital Audio Cable (Orange RCA type plug audio cable) plugged into YAS Input 3. Or you can use Toslink optical digital audio into Input 1 or 2.
The PS3 only has Toslink digital audio connection, so use another Toslink cable to YAS Input 1 or 2. You need to go into your PS3 setup and tell it to use Optical Digital Audio output.
Hope this helps and you won't need the receiver because it does the same thing as the YAS-71.
