I am almost at my wits end:
Setup:
Win XP SP3 and Win 7 RC1
AMD x2 5600 and mobo.
Display Card : ATI 4850 with HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI (Primary)
Driver : Catalyst 9.4
Monitor 1: Sharp Aquos 32A33m via DVI (PC) to VGA (TV)
Monitor 2: NEC 19" wide, via HDMI (PC), HDMI to DVI to DVI (Monitor)

Issue:
Whatever way I connect the two monitors, DVI will always display.
When I plug anything in via HDMI there will be no signal, and not even the monitor will be detected.

Many moons ago, the problem with HDMI can be resolved by manually unplug and plug. However, lately no amount of in-out action can do it (pun intended).

I read here that HDMI ports cannot be replugged often due to HDCP / handshake / edid issue.

Is that true? If yes then what is my remedy?
