I am going to look at a Barco 1208S/2 in the next few days...I was wondering if its easy to see the tube make...
I am hoping it is not Sony tubes as they are not rebuildable...
Anyone care to point out exactly how to tell?
Thanks
Scott

As far as I know, ALL 1208s/2' s use high resolution MEC tubes, not Sony tubes...
You'll be able to tell by the mount hardware if you can't see the sticker easily. Sony tubes have a distinctive mount hardware with a metal expansion chamber on the top, MEC tubes don't.
There are some variations of them, but commonly you find PT18-205's, but you can also find P16's in a 1208s/2. They're one of the sharpest projectors I've ever owned, mostly due to the great tubes...
