I'm trying to author some of my hd camcorder footage from my Canon HF10 to hd-dvd. I did a test disc last week with a few clips reading the stream files into Movie Factory 6 (no addon). I used the default menu and authored it to a directory, then burned it with Nero 7 with booktype set on the media I normally use.

This worked fine, so I tried to make a larger disc with more clips in it on a dual layer dvd. The disc authors fine and burns fine but when I play it back in my A35 and A30 the audio ends up distorting/clipping. The problem does not seem to happen on my A2. I've tried two spindles of Memorex dvd+r dl media (my normal dual layer media) as well as a verbatim dvd+r dl.

I've already authored hundreds of hd-dvds using this setup, but not from my camcorder footage.

I can't seem to figure out why the audio is messed up on the a30 and a35. I'm authoring another single layer disc now to see if it works ok. Any ideas on this?

I tried authoring an HD DVD using camcorder footage from my Canon as well. Video plays fine...but I am getting a clip insound about every 30 seconds. I wonder if it is because MF6 doesnt reencode the sound file from mpeg audio to ac3? I have had no problems converting my camcorder video to AVCHD and playing them in my PS3 but I have an HD DVD player in every room and it would be nice to consistantly reproduce a good HD DVD from my camcorder.
