Has anyone tried to play their Blu-ray player through an HDMI Algolith Flea?

I am experiencing Video pulses, slight flashes when playing my Denon DVD-3800BDCI through the Algolith Flea 1080i.

This pulsing not not occur when I play the Denon using the component outputs.

Algolith claims it is not their unit causing this, however, I have received feedback that this flashing has occurred with other Brand BD players, like Sharp.

This pulsing occurs with both SD and HD video.

Does anyone have any input on why this is occurring?

Hi.

And with 1080p24 ?

I use my HDMI FLEA with HTPC at 720p23.976/24/50/60 or 1080i50/60 or 1080p23.976/24 and it works well in YCbCr 4:2:2 ( FLEA HDMI has a bug in RVB 16-235 or 0-255 and in YCbCr 4:4:4 )

So explain further how do you set up your Flea with signal through the HDMI to avoid this video pulsing.

Is this possible, or do I have to use an Component Flea?

Is there a setting that I need to use?

My Monitor is a Pioneer Elite Pro 1410HD, no 1080p.

Can you explain the referenced bug so I can pass it on to Algolith.

Can you explain the referenced bug so I can pass it on to Algolith.
Algolith is aware of the bug (that also exists on the Mosquito) but it is a hardware limitation.

- RGB with video level is expanded to PC level
- RGB with PC level is clipped below 16 and above 235
- When feeding YCbCr 4:4:4 wtw and btb will be lost

Best regards

Do you have the dynamic contrast option on? You should turn it off.

Yes, I have it turned off. It is really bad when it is on, but still pulsates with the option off. The pulsating can be seen as the Algolith is toggling between processing on and off shown in the Map Regions function.
