I just got a Panasonic dvd/vcr combo (DMR-EZ47V) unit with no remote control. I picked up a Sony RM-VL600 universal Remote. My question is...do you know if I have to program both the Panny DVD and VCR remote codes into the unit?

When I attempted to enter the VCR codes, and pressed the VCR function of the remote, the unit did not respond. I've never used a universal remote...does every thing work from the DVD function on the remote for DVD/VCR combo units? I did not see a separate category for DVD/VCRs remote codes. Also, I don't know the exact remote code for this unit, so I tried all of them listed on the Sony remote code list and didn't have any luck with the VCR function.
