My brain seriously hurts from trying to look this up. So I'm just gonna ask.
What video cards let you output interlaced video from your PC? Or use power strip to get interlaced?
Thanks,
Rudy
Ati HD series works fine with Powerstrip.
I have passive cooled HD 2600PRO and use it with 1080i96 (Powerstrip) for BR and HD DVD's. It have hardware acceleration for HD, so my old 3.2 P4 processor is enough for HD.

I use an ATI 3450 with Powerstrip and it supports interlaced. The only problem is that you need to switch to interlaced in the ATI control panel first as if you don't you get only the upper half of the screen. Powerstrip does (or at least did) have problems doing advanced timings with Nvidia since the 8000 series. That probably doesn't impact pure interlaced support but if you want to do things like 96i you probably want to stick with ATI unless Nivida support has been improved.

I'll be *god* damned - that must be what's been happening to me all this time. Thanks for answering my question without my asking it! :D

I'm glad this was truly useful to some one ;)
As for me I went out and found an ati 3450 for 55$. Went home to think about it. Then realized, if your 3.4 pentium 4 just managed to play HD with overclocking .
Then my 1.4 cant do S**t :D
But still thanks a bunch for answering my question. At least now, I know.

P.S. For anyone that wants a very "not" power hungry video player download and use SMplayer. Its the only program that lets me go to full screen and fast forward and rewind on my laptop without waiting 10 seconds(lag). BAM INSTANT. Amazes me every time.(plus it has a video equalizer with gamma)

Glad to have been of help but ultimate credit goes to Mark_A_W. I was being driven nuts by this and checked out the Powerstrip forums where Mark_A_W posted this problem and later his solution. I assume they are the same Mark. :D

Not 2 sure how things are processed now with PC but 3 years ago when I tried to get interlaced out from HTPC to send to the VP, I was told that even using interlaced out, the windows renderer is still deinterlacing then the video card re interlace hence VP deinterlacing is mute. Maybe things are fixed now.

That's not really a problem. These days I am watching 1080p 24fps sources, viewed at 1080i 96hz.
Although, why you would connect a HTPC to a VP is a bit beyond me.
Little off topic but some might find this usefull with Ati, Powerstrip, multiple resolutions and two display.
After you have found good timings from Powerstrip, you can make desktop shortcut for displays and resolutions from Ati catalyst center profile manager (under profiles).
I have 1050p60 shortcut for monitor, 1080i96 and 768p75 shortcuts for projector and 768p75 shortcut that have both displays activated mostly for test purposes. With these it's really easy to chance needed display and resolution combos.

You can also drive Powerstrip directly with Reclock. Res/Refresh changes happen automagically.
