Forgive, this may be a newb question, but I've searched far and wide and wanted to make certain before I make a new purchase..
I want to replace my theater receiver with one that has dynamic volume correction (like the Pioneer or Denons) because I can't stand the changes when I'm trying to watch music videos.
-My current 6.1 setup has an optical out feeding a second receiver that powers the speakers for the rest of the house so they play the same source. The second receiver is stereo.
-I noticed many of the receivers at the lower price point lack a digital out, and with my current setup I've tried to run from the analog pre-outs ("room B" and "front L&R") to the second unit but it's not line level, both receivers have to be cranked way up. Only the digital connection is reliable & line level.
-Is this a limitation of my current receiver not outputing to the pre-outs a proper analog signal, or is this typical? I need to make sure I have a way to feed the second receiver. I've considered just using 5.1+2 though I'd lose the 6th channel (but save space and considerable electricity)
-My current receiver doesn't have any HDMI inputs, on the new one is it a problem if the PS3 is outputing audio via HDMI and sending that to a second unit (digitial or analog) via the theater receiver? I know the PS3 has a problem outputing more than one audio signal.
Thanks for your help, again apologize if this is audio 101. ;)
