I bought a new Pioneer Elite, 7.1 receiver. I also just bought a new house which has built in surround sound throughout the house. I have 4 speakers in the tv room, 2 in the hallway, and 2 in the master bedroom. Can you help me with the best way to plug these in?
Also, is there a setting on this receiver that will play sound out each speaker equally for when listening to music throughout the house?

Thanks!

You should delete this thread, maccol. No reason to have 2 going.

ya jus hook them up and put the dsp to 7 channel stereoAs described in his other thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1147698), though, he is connecting 2 pairs of speakers, with separate volume controllers for each pair, to his 2 extra surround back amps and assigning them to Zone2. To do what you are describing would require connecting those 2 pair of speakers to the surround back amps and NOT setting them up as a Zone2 but, instead, leaving them simply connected as surround back speakers and instructing his receiver that he has a 7.1 setup. This could possibly create problems when he operates his receiver in other modes such as DD, DTS, and DPLII as those speakers might be sent surround info in those modes when he doesn't really desire them to be on. And his side surround speakers in his HT may not be sent the proper surround info that would be sent there were his setup otherwise configured as being 5.1.
