Got it last night and installed. Component video in, HDMI output to one TV and component video to another. Both show only a B&W picture. When I play a DVD in it plays only in B&W also. Any ideas? Just a bad unit? Any comments would be appreciated.
Don't know of any current Magnavox DVDRs with Component video in, so not sure how you're set up. Here's a help file on the Mag 2080/2160 showing four connection Sketches depending on how you receive your TV signal. (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showpost.php?p=12298409&postcount=10) Might be a good place to start in providing more info on your setup and cabling?
First I assume you mean composite video in? Second if you're getting B&W on both your TV with HDMI and you other TV with either composite or component IN, I'd really suspect the DVDR. If it were only the second TV with component then I might suspect a cabling problem(bad cable or hooked up wrong) but with HDMI it's pretty fool proof. Only one cable and only plugs in one way. Do you have another DVD player to substitute for the Maggy? If that worked it would defiantly be the Maggy. Is it a new 2160A DVDR?

OK, got it. We had to take the component/composite? The one with green blue red and audio to the TV. I was taking the Yellow, white, red to the tv.
The manual showed both types of connections but the Y, W, R didn't work.
All seems well now but thanks for the replies.

The Y/W/R Composite and the S-Video connections won't work as long as you have Progressive Scan turned ON. Progressive Scan only applies to the Component RGB connection, and it doesn't HAVE to be On for Component to work if you need both Component AND Y/W/R or S-Video to work.
