I want to buy a Gefen 2 X 2 HDMI 1.3 switcher for 2 Blu Ray sources. For each source:

Here's my set up:

-Wish to run HDMI OUT#1 to Projector at 1080P24

-Wish to run HDMI OUT #2 to surround processor to play lossless HDMI audio (LPCM). Display connected to surround processor is only capable of 1080i or lower resolutions. I want to simply get the digital, HDMI audio on HDMI out 2.

I do not need a picture on 1080i display (Gefen Splitter HDMI OUT #2). I just want the Gefen Splitter to pass the digital audio via LPCM to my surround processor even though the connected HDMI display cannot display the 1080P24 signal.. I just want the audio..



MY QUESTION:



Will the Gefen 2 X 2 splitter pass 1080P24 to my projector on OUTPUT #1 AND pass the lossless, digital audio on HDMI OUT #2 even though the connected display is only 1080i capable and won't display a picture? I don't care if I get a picture on display #2.

If not, I can disconnect the 1080i display and turn OFF HDMI video output in the surround processor. Would the Gefen splitter still pass the audio (don't need the video)?
