I have been doing so much research every night to find a projector that my eyes ready to fall out.
I was saving for something nice but my old mits 1000 is sounding like coffee grinder so I would like to find something to justify blowing the savings that was supposed to go to something sweet.
my home theater has a black ceiling so a black projector would be nice unless its something that would be something to not pass up, I would only use it at night in a dark room, DVD`s satlite old XBOX and 360, since Im not really veiwing HD the projector would have to do a great job for lower res, I really dont want DLP any more, it seems I have bad luck with color wheels going out, I want a 3 chip DLP!!
Im looking at epson pro 810 (refurb) and I think I might be able get a sony vw 50 (used) in my price range
all suggestions and help would make my eyes happy

get a viewsonic pro8100 from tigerdirect, either from ebay or direct from their website, use the live cashback and you got $1500.
you wont find a better value right now

well my eyes are telling me to take a break from this, BUT IM ON A MISSION!!!
I was hoping for a better review on the viewsonic, I really like the way it looks http://www.projectorreviews.com/viewsonic/pro8100/index.php
I did find a thread that has made me realize that I should focus on a 720 projector, i looks like the 720 dos a better job for standard stuff, unless maybe you buy a high end projector like JVC or runco that has better scaling or is it posible to ad a scaler to a 1080 projector to help it scale down to standard better? I dont have blueray or HD,
im setup on DVD, normal sat, old xbox and 360, heres the thread I found http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1039990
I would like a 3 chip DLP 720, JVC, Runco, planar, SIM, but there out of line with the prices even used and then theres the reliability issues, one thing gos rong with an expensive used projector and your on your own,
so were is the happy medium, do i go back to DLP color wheel or try LCD, I want very good black levels and shadow detail, I want sharpness with low visible pixel structure, and a quiet projector,
heres the projectors that Im looking at now,
Epson 810, cons: pixel structure and not very quiet
infocus IN78, cons: reliability, I have owned infocus before and your most likely going to return it a few time for repairs on the color wheel
benq PE8720, cons: why cant it be black,
sharp xv-9000u cons: its a expensive used unit that will probibly go over buget

I want to thank everyone for all the help, its been awsome
I have simplified things to what I am trying to acheive
I have desided that buying a used unit is a bad idea unless you have a backup projector and have the money to ship it out for repairs because thats what could happen
I think buying a refurb could work as long as you get a warranty and try to find out what its been threw, I called epson and had a conversation with someone ( I think, I serously could not tell If it was automated or a real person, between the delay after I spoke and the robot voice and the feeling of not getting my question answer proporly) I think epson give a full warranty on there refurbs but unclear? and I think if I went for the 810 if they had one but they might? I would have to buy it from a dealer?,, I called BENQ sales and talked with a very nice person that answerd every questen, with benq refurbs you get what you get, and only a one year warranty with no extensions
I have simplifeid it down to working with Monitor outlet.com, I have a credit card with the same company that they work with, and should be able to use it, I didnt want to go over $1200 but with the card im willing to go maybe to $1700, after talking with Monitor it seems that they can get just about anything I want at good prices, we will see,
Im working on buying either new or older new unit with full warranty, so lets see what I can come up with, if I go with a 1080 it would have to be able to do DVD`s and xbox and 360 as good as the older 720
these are some that im looking at but I really want the JVC RS1 but the price is to high
benq PE8720
IN78
epson 810 or 1080
sony vlpvw50 if the price is low enough
theres room for more projectors but which ones would fit my situation?
