Hi,

first of all, sorry if i'm posting in the wrong forum.

I have a problem setting up the projector at work. Everything is working fine, except this - if there is a video in a powerpoint presentation, it doesn't show (rest of the presentation works, and videos played in any player also work), the area where the video is is simply black. Somebody mentioned to me that the probable cause of the problem is that my notebook/prjector is set to display videos in fullscreen, and the projector always tries to display videos in FS, and since the video is innside the powerpoint presentation, it can't do it, so the area is black. And indeed, when i play a video from a player, no matter if it's fullscreen or not on the notebook, on projector it's always fullscreen.

The problem is, i can't find any setting on nvidia panel related to this. Is this a notebook or pojector setting?

The notebook is Toshiba Qosmio, projector is Panasonic PTL785E

That pj is listed on one site as being native 1024 X 768, so try setting the laptop to the same rez?

Or try using 600X800 this is your desktop display setting wich will then play all the videos at that res wich could inturn display it in full screen.

This is a hard problem to trouble shoot without looking at it because the video player may be playing it in a windows mode at the default resolution.

What resolution is the video in?

Is this a windows program? you can sometimes right click the video file and then select properties then advanced and get the actual video file data like file size, resolution size that kinda stuff.

It could also be a sizing problem in the projector.

I don't think this is a resolution problem, since every video is being played full screen on the projector, regardless of it's resolution. Even if i set the resolution on the notebook to match the resolution of the projector, it's still the same. But, let me repeat, everything works fine, all the videos work great, except the videos that are inside the powerpoint presentation, and that's a pretty big issue for me. Even if i extract the video from powerpoint, it plays fine when it's played via player, but it doesn't work inside the presentation. So it must be some setting, either in nvidia CP or on the projector that makes it try to play all videos in full screen. And with this being the only nvidia machine i ever had, that makes it so much harder.

I'll try setting up another notebook, just to see if it's a notebook or projector issue.

The problem is you are displaying the presentation on the laptop AND the projector simultaneously. Hit the Fn key again that changes the display output mode to JUST projector and you will get the video in your presentation.
