Hi Folks

A somewhat unusual request, I currently have my JVC RS 20 mounted flush to the ceiling, projecting onto a DaLite HP screen. It is not ideal as the projector is about 3' above my eye level. I would like to have the option of lowering it during movie watching to realize more of the gain from the HP screen but then have it return to a flush mount position when the projector is not in use. (to keep the RS20 out of the way as it would then be hanging too low with kids/people around when not in use)

Having a recessed ceiling, there is about 12" of room above the ceiling panel (which would allow clearance for the extension tube) and I was wondering if any of you have come across a mount that goes from flush mount to about 12-18" of extension drop?

There seems to be plenty of extension mounts around however they are of the variety that go from a regular 12" mount extending to 18-20" etc . These will not work for me.

Thanks in advance

This (http://www.mountdirect.com/EPL_Electric_Projector_Lift_p/epl.htm) is the only one I know about that will do what you want--and more. It ain't cheap.

Thanks FLBoy

At that price, looks like a DIY project for me!

Time to put the ole thinking cap on!

I may be able to utilize a regular extension mount to fit up above the ceiling tile attached to the joist. Then have the extension tube poking thru the ceiling tile, attach the mount and then the projector. As long as the button to adjust the length is accesible below the ceiling tile, it may work OK.

I'll keep looking.

dannic- As long as you're thinking DIY, some sort of three- or four-legged fold-down device might solve the problem. Maybe you could patent it and make your fortune selling it to others! I've seen several people asking for the same thing. :)
