My brother bought a EPSON S5 and its trying to sep up in his livingroom...He has it up on his wall about 18 feet away from the other wall which gives him about 127" of screen....his walls are white already but when he turns on the unit if you get close to the wall you can see all the little squares on the image.
Now he is thinking of changing colors to the SilverScreen color......Now im trying to find out for him will the change of color eliminate the little squares on the images or will it change?

This is from about 16 feet away

And this is from about a foot away

Any suggestions before he spends more money?

What you're seeing is SDE (screen door effect). At that size you'll see those regardless of the type of screen you have. Will a new screen help? I'm not sure. Will you be able to get rid of it? Definitely not. He really needs to purchase a better projector. This is an 800x600 business projector.

You know what i heard also.....That he can try to bring it closer instead of having it 18 feet away to try to make it an 80" screen......Is that true?

Yes, reducing the screen size will make it less noticeable. He can also try defocusing it slightly.

Glad I could help! Let him know if he wants to spend about $600-700 he can purchase a home theater projector that will blow the S5 out of the water while allowing him to maintain his 127" image...
