I have a Sharpvision 10000U that works great, with under 1000 hours on it (low because it was in storage for a year and a half). I'm working on my new theater in my new home, and was thinking of upgrading to 1080P while I was at it.

Anyway, on to the point of my thread. For those who upgraded from 720p to 1080p, what did you do with your older projector? I guess there might be a buyer out there for my older projector, but given how fast used electronics drop in value, is that the right approach? Or should I try to repurpose it around the house?

Look in your family tree for a couple just starting out in life and see if they would like to jump into the work of Home Theaters. Offer to set it up for them. The more recruits we get to our club the better the products will get.

It doesn't hurt to surround yourself with good Karma.

upgraded from Optoma HD65 to Epson 6500. Basically Epson for blu ray movies and HD65 for PS3 games since most PS3 games are 720p anyway.

How about your bedroom. I thought about getting a used projector or reasonable 720p for the bedroom. We have a 72" long dresser across from the foot of the bed. My head would be about 11 or 12 feet from the wall. Can put a screen, maybe pull down, above the dresser. Put the projector on a shelf above my head. Think about it. You are probably going to watch TV in the dark in the BR anyway. 72" across would be 82" diagonal widescreen. Try buying a large plasma or LCD to put on the dresser and you'll spend thousands.

I don't know much about this model of projector...but use it as an outdoor threater projector. We have an Infocus 4805 we keep stored until we do the drive way threater for family and friends...or we take it to church functions for use there too. I have a 12 ft inflatable screen we bought at walmart and the combo is a hit no matter where we set up the outdoor threater.

List it on eBay. Seriously. Used PJ's sell incredibly well there.
