Hello everyone. Thanks in advance for the help.

I am trying to put some of the finishing touches on my townhouse home theater build, and I have some questions I hope some of you guys might be able to answer in the acoustics department.

I recently finished installing my screen, wich is a 135" 2.35:1 DIY screen made from blackout cloth and silver fire paint, and hung it on the wall about 2' forward of the wall, to make room for my speakers. I then hung curtians of sort from the screen and ceiling, made from speaker cloth.

How would you go about doing sound treatments to this?
Does the sound bounce around behind that screen?

The vocals dont sound nearly as clean as they used to be, so I know I will need to do some treatments, but I am looking to see what you guys would suggest..

I have a few photo's to give you an idea. The room is 12x20, and 9' wide in the back where the closet is. I am planning on moving the rack into the closet after my friend moves out in a few weeks.

Where are the speakers? Is the last pic a shot of an area behind your screen?

yes, im sorry, I thought I made that clear previously.

The front 3 speakers (and soon to be the sub) will be located up front, unless you guys highly suggest to leave the sub at the back of the room where it is now.

The speakers are the Infinity Beta 50 towers and C360 center, all with rear ports.

The last picture is the area behind my screen. that white fabric is blackout cloth covering a window.

I wouldn't worry about sound bouncing around behind the screen. The speaker cloth curtains are nice and acoustically transparent, which means you can hide lots of acoustical treatments behind them without any ill effects from the curtains. And because they are hidden, they can be cheap and butt-ugly. :)

Corner semi-rigid fiberglass bass traps (StudioTips SuperChunks (http://forum.studiotips.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=535)) plus at least 2" of semi-rigid fiberglass or acoustic cotton on the remaining hidden wall area would probably greatly improve the sound in the room.

great, i will continue with the loose plan that I had before. thanks. I was just concerned that the screen being farther away from the wall was having a larger impact than I was expecting.

I'm still confused about the front speaker placement. Will they be in front of, or behind the screen wall/curtains?

Im sorry. They will be behind the curtain, below the screen.
The curtains are made of speaker cloth, so should be acoustically transparent.

Yeah, that should work pretty well, although you don't want to bunch them up too much. Multiple thicknesses of speaker grill cloth will start to impair the sound.

In your OP, when you said "The vocals dont sound nearly as clean as they used to be,..." I was thinking that you might have put them behind the screen, which would not be nearly as acoustically transparent.
