Hello everyone,

I have a Sony Pearl Projector and a Pioneer Amp, connecting them is a 50 foot HDMI ran in the wall. Do you think I need to add on a Repeater before I plug into the projector? Thanks

Depends on alot of factors... I wouldn't be suprised if you did though, pretty long run.

Though you can probably get an answer here, this forum is for Front Projection CRT, not digitals.

Plug it in without the repeated and see if it works. If it works, you don't need a repeater.

If it doesn't work, try a repeater, which may or may not fix the problem.

I would be surprised if you do. I have run 95 feet to a Sony TV without issues, and that was 3 separate cables with couplers between them, which is a recipe for signal loss. It largely depends on the quality of the receiver since active equalisation is applied to the received signal in order to recover the signal "eye" as cleanly as possible. All that a repeater does is apply more equalisation before the receiving end. It's a good idea, but not always necessary.
p.s. cables were inexpensive Monoprice ones.
