I'm setting up a PJ mounted on an 8 foot ceiling 13 to 14 feet away and centered on screen. It will be right above the primary viewing position (sofa). I dont have the screen yet but will probably use 88 to 96 inch 1.78. I'm considering the Carada masquerade screen or some other masking technique. This is in our living room but the light control is pretty good. No windows directly in front of the screen.
So I'd like a 1080/24p PJ that is quiet since it is above the viewers and bright enough for my screen/environment. Which one up to 3000 bucks is easy to live with?
I dont know anything about PJ in general because I have been studying flat panel tech for years and just ignored the front projection scene. However, I am frustrated at the slow progress in advancement in flat panel tech and decided that they are just too small anyway. I mean, if your going to wall mount a plasma, why not put up an even bigger projection screen.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
