Hi, I have a basic question: What is the difference between digital & standard definition TV? Does "definition" refer to the resolution & quality of the signal? Does "digital" refer to the way that signal is broadcast? Did I get it right?

Thanks for your help.

Digital TV broadcast: HDTV or SDTV 480i Standard Definition up to 1080i High Definition.
Analog TV broadcast is 480i, Standard Definition. Going off the air in June, still living in Cable or DVDs/ VCRs.
You can have a Digital Standard Definition or High Definition signal depending on the program you are watching.

Digital just means its 0's and 1's. Digital quality is marketing speak.
