Hi all,

I'm a bit limited to the brands I can purchase in Belgium, the SVS is as big as the wife factor will allow (it barely fits behind the sofa, so out of sight...), the SuperCube is a much nicer alternative, but will it perform as good?

How would the 1200$ SuperCube I hold up against the SVS PB12-NSD which costs around 600$. The frequency response of the SVS look pretty good. from reviews it seems that the SuperCube will not go a deep as the SVS.

I'm looking for an upgrade, possibly the SVS PB12-Plus is a better altenative for the SuperCube, but in a sub half the price would perform almost as good, I could live with the additionl saving.

The sub will be used in a 4000ft³ room and primarily for Movies

You have a rather large room. I would at least go with the PB12-NSD. Also, check out the HSU VTF-3 Mark 3. It's available in multiple finish options. It's tall and relatively slim so it may fit in with your sofas. For ~$1200, consider the VTF3 Mk.3 plus MBM-12 combo. You can use the MBM-12 for near field to further dynamic impacts.

If you can stretch your budget to around $1400, consider the ULS-15. It's smaller relatively and has strong WAF factor.

He's in Belgium. The only ID brand is SVS.

To the OP, the PB12-NSD will easily outperform the Supercube I. You have quite a big room. You need at least a PB12-NSD.

you're right about the brands, it took me a long time to find a distributer for SVS. For the rest i'm stuck with the european brands.

What about the pb12 plus? Is it a big improvenent for twice the money?

It is a significant upgrade, but I don't know if it is twice as good as the PB12-NSD.

Isn't the PB12 plus bigger? I thought the PB12-NSD was already pushing it.

It's only 1 cm higher, wider and deeper, so it is still within limits.
But for sure I will be telling, no problem sweetie, it will fit behind the sofa, but when she sees the thing she will not be happy :D, you can't make a big sub like that disappear, o well...

It up to you. It is quite a bit better. If you can swing it, I'd say go for it, because you have a very big room.
