After recording a program, I can't seem to find the function to make a playlist.
According to the manual, I do the following: press "Title List", highlight program I want to make the playlist from, press the right arrow key, select "create" from the new menu.
My problem is, "create" isn't part of the list.
Any help would be appreciated. It's probably something simple, but I can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks!

Do you want to make a list for playback purposes, or a list of things to copy to DVD? The two functions work differently, and the words used to describe the functions are confusing, especially since the expressions "play list" and "create" are actually nowhere to be found in the recorder screens (the instruction manual is a little goofy).
To make a playback list, you first need to jot down the title numbers of the recordings you want to play: open the hard drive or DVD navigation screen and note the numbers. Exit the nav screen, then go into the home/main menu screen and select the Play Mode button. Arrow down to the bottom choice, Program, and hit Enter. Arrow right to Input/Edit Program and hit Enter. A numerical list of recordings will appear, you can arrow up and down the list to highlight the ones you want to play. (Arrowing to the right of each title number will allow you to select individual chapters from each recording, if you need to get that specific). After highlighting all the titles you want to play, just hit the Play button on your remote to start playing the list. You can exit the Play List mode by pressing the Home/Main menu key at any time. The Play List is stored until you change or erase it, you can go back to it at any time by entering the Play Mode screen and selecting Program again.
If your goal is to select a group of hard drive titles to dub to DVD, thats done a bit differently. You enter the recorders main/home menu screen, select the Copy function, and from there select the "Copy from HDD to DVD" function. You will be asked what kind of DVD you want unless you already loaded a blank disc (its easier if you load the blank first). Then you will see a list of all the title names on your hard drive to choose from. You highlight the ones you want, then click the Next button on the right side of the screen. A new list will appear showing only the titles you chose to copy to DVD. Individual titles on this sub-list can be highlighted, and if you hit the Enter button some editing options for that title will appear. Each title on the copy list can be moved into a different play order (highest plays first from the burned DVD). Each title can be edited, have thumbnails or names changed, have chapters moved around, etc. When you are satisfied, clicking the Next button again will bring up the final DVD burning screen where you select a DVD name and menu design.
All edits and changes you make in the Copy List system affect only how a DVD will be created: nothing is changed in your actual hard drive recordings. So if you are afraid of making edit mistakes you can't undo, always edit in the copy list window instead of in the main HDD navigation window (edits made in the main window cannot be undone).
