I bought a PB10 less than a year ago and everything has been great until today. I went to watch a movie and i coulldnt get sound out of the sub. I checked the fuse and it looked good. I also tried leaving it unplugged for a while and i tried running test tones. Nothing helped. The amp will light up green when in auto and sound should come out but no sound. Any ideas? I emailed svs but i wanted to see if anyone had any ideas. Thanks
did you check your cables or interconnect tips?
as a last resort:
try to connect a source direct to the subwoofer using a new cable to check if the problem is with the sub amp or external.
CD player / DVD player = direct to sub plate amp ; one channel will do (make sure subwoofer gain is low to start)
Wait for SVS to tell you what to try so you don't void the warranty. It is either the amp section, the driver/voice coil, or a loose wire. They will probably instruct you to pull the amp or driver and look for loose wires. Then they will ask you to get a 9v battery, hold the negative speaker wire to the negative battery terminal and touch/release/touch/release the positive speaker wire to the positive terminal on the battery. If the speaker is good, you will see it move when you complete the circuit with the battery.
