I just realized my amp has a low cut filter and I need a low pass filter. I just got my type r and I could hear voices and stuff. So I need one for my type r 12" 500w rms

receiver is this really old 2 channel thing but it works fine for what I need it for. My amp is a behringer ep1500.

I assume your sub is passive and doesn't have its own LP filter. You are going to have to get an outboard LP filter. The people in the DIY thread can probably direct you to your best choices in make and model and whether you need an active or passive filter.

i think i just need a new reciever do the sub outs have a lp or will i need extra stuffIf your sub doesn't have a crossover setting, then a new receiver with a sub out would. Usually shown as Crossover. I don't believe I've seen one that actually calls it an LP as it is also an HP for the other channels.
