Hi all,
So i have a chance to buy a samsung pn50a450 store display thats been up and running for about 4 months . Its thier last one and it has about 1,080 hours on it if you calculate 7 days a week at 9 hours a day for 4 months. Its in perfect looking condition and i can get it for about $800 out the door including tax. It comes with original warranty. what do you guys think? Is it a good deal and would you buy a store display?
Thanks!

Top or bottom row? Trust me, it makes a big difference.

Doesnt matter if its top or bottom... TV's get moved around about 3 times in their display life time so even if it was on the top this time it was probably on the bottom 2 months ago... One thing I would recommend is looking for IR and BI... If there is, ask for them to run the scroll bare for you for about an hour and see if it goes away... These TV's run the same loop OVER AND OVR AND OVER again...
Also, the 50a450 has been a clearance item for a while now... Offer them a bit less and see if they bite...

its set back so small hands (I.E children cant reach it) and i would say at middle height. I am 6'2" and the top of the tv is at the top of my head level and barely within arms reach. Its at a fairly large brick and mortar store that isnt well known or very popular like BB or the like. And I've been to it 3 times in the last year now to buy new appliances and each time i was one of maybe 5 or 6 people in the whole store.

My panny was a store display, no idea how many hours on it but i figure if was going to give trouble it would have by the time i bought it. It came with the manufacturers 1 yr warranty plus i got 3yrs more on top of that, as i live in a remote area and shipping is expensive. The price was right and the picture is stunning and hockey looks amazing on it. I say go for it if it looks good and the price is acceptable to you. Even with 1000 hrs on it you have 59,000 left :D

Ask for the remote and go in the picture detailed settings, go to burn in protection and look for the all white screen. See if there is any burn in and check for any pink hue. For $800.00 I would ask them for a lower price.
Yeah that is too pricey for that set as a display. It's a nice set but you can get a new Panny 50" for about $60 more if you shop around. True it's only 768p, but depending on your viewing distance it may not matter. At $650 to $700 it might be a deal.

ok so i put a deposit down on the tv but its refundable if i change my mind on it. I will go back and try that burn in protection thing tomorrow or friday before i opt to buy or not. I did manage to talk them down to around $745, after the 9.25% taxes it comes out to about $842 including the $25 recycle fee. So if there is a better tv out there for the price which would u recommend? What panny to look at? Thanks for the help guys!
