I'm a complete newbie to big screen tv's, so please forgive my ignorance.

If you had to choose between two Panasonic plasma's, and both were the same price, which would you choose?

TH50PZ80 or TCP50X1

TH50PZ80 is 1080p vs the 50X1 which is 720p, PZ80 is also a higher end model I would get the PZ80 if I had the choice
(I own the X1)

If you had to choose between two Panasonic plasma's, and both were the same price, which would you choose? TH50PZ80 or TCP50X1The PZ80 is last year's entry level 1080p model but looks pretty good. It's replacement is the TC-P50S1. The 50X1 is the current 768p model.

To me the choice boils down to viewing distance. If my viewing distance was less than 12 feet i'd pick the older 1080p set. If it was 12 feet or more i might pick the new 768p set, but i don't really like the 768p sets anymore.
