I have never heard these or can barely find much info on them..are they decent speakers? I am moving into a new place and building a new setup finally...are these worth $360 for the pair? I am doing pretty much 100% Home Theater and Gaming use...

My main question is should I consider these or get something like a lower end Energy set for my front speakers?

Thanks

I love Polk but I'm not a huge fan of the Monitor series. They're too warm, not "forward" enough, IMO. The 70s will dig fairly low at around 40Hz for the -3db rating, and the price is decent, but I'd check out other options first. I'd go for used RTi series first, but I'm not sure how keen you are on used stuff.

when it comes to speakers I am a noob... What do you mean by "forward"? I have seen that term used before but was never clear on the terminology. Does it mean they are not clear? or precise enough? or what?

Thank you

The most "forward" speaker by most accounts, and mine as well, are the horn loaded Klipsch speakers. Forward and bright are two words used interchangeably when describing speakers with more pronounced highs than other speakers.

For a good demonstration, turn your bass all the way down and the treble all the way up. Thats a forward speaker.

If you don't like bright or forward sound, buy the Polks.
