Hello,

1st i think that a HDMI make a sound suround in 4 way speakers not like mp3 in 2 way only, that's Right?

if i have a HDTV, Xbox360(HDMI Device) & Philps Home theater HTS3366(with 5.1 channel,Aux Video Components, NO HDMI IN)

if i want to connect the xbox with HDMI to my HDTV to get best video , how can i connect the xbox to home theather in same time to make a 4 surround speaker?

i read before in forums they say i must use Video Components & connect the 3 wires to HDTV and 3 to home theater , but i think that it will make low quality in video and sound that because Video Components is analog and the signal can lose in cable.

thank you

If your audio gear doesn't have HDMI in, then you'll have to send digital SPDIF over coax/optical (I think the xbox 360 has optical out) to get 5.1.

You can still send HDMI directly to the TV for video only if you want, if your TV has HDMI inputs.

i have in xbox 360 i have 1 digital optical output and in home theater a 1 coxial digital input and i can use a converter to join the both but i have 3 questions:
1-is the converter will lose some of the signal?
2- is coxial digital support 5.1 surround sound system,or it's 2 way surround only?
3- is the audio component cabls(3 of 6 cable) can make the same quality of sound(5.1) like optical or HDMI?

1) yes you can use a converter to go from optical to coax SPDIF and it won't be any problem.

2) You should be getting 5.1 is you set the output of the xbox correctly.

3) No, the analog audio cables from the xbox will only be in stereo, there is only a left and a right (white and red). To get 5.1 you need either to use HDMI or to use SPDIF out (optical in the case of the xbox 360). The xbox does not have multi-channel analog outputs that I am aware of.
