Interesting article, Ted. Thanks for taking the time to write it.

As a bit of a critique, I'd say that the article is a bit scattered, jumping topics without much transition. I'd also stick with the same units instead of switching form m/s to mph. And a last thing, the links included in the article don't show up for me (using IE6).

But again, nice write-up and a good starting point for someone trying to learn.

I love the "make your own wave" doohicky. :)

Good primer, but here's a typo or two for correction:

Where did "pushes" enter the conversation? I think you could just say ...not just one wave, but many different waves simultaneously...

The flash interactive portion in the page works fine in IE 8.0.6001. I just took me a minute to figure out how to work it.

Man, I wrote this about 1 year ago. I sort of stumbled back across it and was playing with the animation and thought I'd post it. Hadn't noticed the missing sound links
